The Role

Main Purpose of Job

  • Manage and maintain records on the biological effluent treatment plant to keep the system healthy and servicing the site.  This will also involve dealing with a third-party specialist on sewage treatment.
  • Assisting the Engineering team with planned preventative maintenance interventions and breakdown maintenance.  This will include the use of forklift trucks, mobile elevated work platforms and scissor lifts.
  • Carry out routine checks and recording of building and services infrastructure such as fire doors, sprinklers and ladders.
  • Carry out regular consumption meter readings on the various services entering the business.
  • Carry out small site repairs across the business premises.
  • Keeping the external housekeeping and visual impression of the premises in good order so that it looks appropriate for employees and customers.
  • Monthly stock-taking of production consumables and managing this information through the site’s procurement team.

Key qualifications, skills and attributes

  • A good level of verbal and written English, along with practical mathematical ability is necessary.
  • Practical experience of working with biological sewage treatment plants would be an advantage, but an ability to learn the detail of this complex system is vital if this experience is lacking.
  • Other preferred skills will include forklift and mobile access equipment proficiency, along with experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • An ability to follow health and safety policies and procedures and be proactive in supporting a positive health and safety culture.
  • An ability to participate in proactive problem-solving exercises to address any issues impacting on production and general plant condition.
  • An ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Experience of working on own initiative and as a member of a team.
  • Good organisational skills with an ability to manage own workload and priorities.

The hours for this role will be 0800-1600 Wed, Thurs, Fri and 0600-1500 Saturday.
