Our client based in Norwich are seeking a Business Development Executive to join their team.

Role Overview

This role requires a motivated and proactive Business Development Executive to manage inbound sales enquiries, close and process orders, and drive new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will take ownership of their sales pipeline, maintain existing client relationships, and actively seek out new business growth opportunities, constantly looking at ways to increase sales and build our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound sales enquiries and convert leads into confirmed orders.
  • Process orders through to completion, ensuring excellent customer service throughout.
  • Expand existing accounts by identifying new sales opportunities and key decision-makers within the customer base.
  • Build strong relationships with new clients, nurturing opportunities for future business.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our products and services.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
  • Carry out research around opportunities, including multiple phone calls and connecting through professional networking platforms such as LinkedIn.
  • Develop your own sales pipeline and manage weekly.
  • Work with lead generation platforms to identify and track upcoming projects.
  • Create structured weekly/monthly reports to present at sales meetings.
  • Proactively identify and engage with new clients through cold calling.
  • Provide after-sales support and customer service to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in sales, business development, or account management (preferably within the security, construction, or street furniture industries).
  • Highly motivated and driven to achieve targets and grow sales.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and responsibility for their own learning and career development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive and proactive approach.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • IT proficiency, including experience using CRM systems (or willingness to learn).
  • Very comfortable and happy to make a high volume of phone calls on a daily basis in order to develop and research opportunities, their key influencers and decision-makers.
