My client is currently undertaking a period of growth and is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a new team to install, commission and maintain a new section of their business

You will be capable of liaising with the senior management team to understand the objectives of the business and then deliver them to your team so that projects and maintenance are completed in line with expectation levels. You will maintain working relationships with your peer groups in production, quality and HSE departments.

As an Engineering Manager you will:

  • Manage all engineering projects ensuring that work is carried out in a safe and timely manner.
  • Work towards continuous improvement objectives of the department and the business as a whole.
  • Prepare and control the site engineering budget.
  • Project manage new equipment installation, and where necessary manage the work of third-party contractors, ensuring Health and Safety and Safe Systems of Work procedures are adhered to.
  • Work closely with colleagues in production, quality control and sales to discuss project specifications and procedures.
  • Through the Engineering team ensure there are adequate measures in place to control and monitor the ordering of stock.
  • Help to recruit, line manage and develop engineering team members to be effective in their roles, providing clear communication and expectations to all team members.

The successful Engineering Manager will have:

  • Proven experience in an agricultural or FMCG sector
  • The ability to create efficient, business-aligned goals, plans, and processes
  • Strong business acumen, ability to make decisions, and to take responsibility for outcomes.
  • In depth technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Proven knowledge and experience of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive people management experience
  • A commitment to sustainability and a forward-thinking approach
