R13 are partnering with a brilliant, specialist manufacturing business in their search for a 2D CAD Engineer to join their team in Norwich. Responsible for the creation of 2D product solutions using CAD software, you will ensure the alignment with customer specifications and adherence to established design guidelines.
This is a full time, permanent position working 9am - 6pm, Monday to Friday. The offered salary for this opportunity is competitive depending on experience.
The day to day
- Created customised product designs using 2D AutoCAD, following established design principles and procedures for quoting and manufacturing support.
- Generating 'works orders' to convey design and component specifications to production teams and external suppliers.
- Adhering to company manual guidelines for product design and 'works orders' in line with agreed design principles and procedures.
- Handling direct sales inquires, and liaising with customers and suppliers to define requirements, develop design solutions, and occasionally conduct on-site assessments.
You will have/be
- Knowledge and experience of 2D CAD design software, and good technical understanding of engineering drawings.
- Methodical and logical approach, customer-focused
- Excellent communication skills, including telephone & face to face.
- Computer literate with experience of the Microsoft package.
- Understanding of design and engineering principles.
- Able to travel to customers, within & outside the UK where required.
