Special Education Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing support to our special education students, contributing significantly to their academic and personal success.

Day to day of the role:

  • Assist the special education teacher in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs within the classroom setting.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure students receive tailored services and accommodations.
  • Support students in developing daily living skills, including personal care and socialisation.
  • Monitor and track studentsā€™ progress, providing regular updates to teachers and parents.
  • Engage in professional development to continuously improve skills and knowledge in special education.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with special needs students is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with special needs.
