We are seeking a dynamic individual with a diverse skill set to join our vibrant SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) partner school. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in education, psychology, social work, or any related field that has equipped them with strong empathy and resilience. Available immediately or starting in September, this full-time position is perfect for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students.

Day to day of the role:

  • Work closely with students who have social, emotional, and mental health needs, providing support and guidance tailored to their individual challenges.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and mental well-being within the school environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, therapists, and external agencies to create holistic support plans for students.
  • Engage with students in both one-to-one and group settings, fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students, adapting approaches as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in SEMH education and support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a role supporting individuals with SEMH needs, whether in an educational setting or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with and inspire students.
  • Resilience and adaptability to work effectively in challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related discipline are desirable.
