A very exciting niche market engineering firm in Norwich is currently seeking an experienced Electrical/Electronics Design Engineer to join their team. This exciting opportunity involves working on the design and development of electrical and electronic systems for a range of complex projects. You will play a key role in supporting the lifecycle of various systems, including working on analogue and digital hardware, wiring design, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, control panels, and instrumentation.
- Create new and maintain legacy analogue and digital circuits, including component selection and evaluation.
- Evaluate system requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Generate test, interface, and supplier documentation.
- Support prototype testing and the initial "first of class" testing phase.
- Write reports, deliver presentations, and engage with customers and senior management.
- Ensure designs are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and project management departments.
- Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the role.
About You:
Qualifications:
- HND or a degree in Electrical Engineering, or demonstrable experience in a related engineering field.
Technical Skills/Experience:
- Proficiency in electrical design techniques related to industrial wiring and system interconnection.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience using electrical test equipment for fault-finding and prototype testing.
- Strong technical report writing skills for creating proposals, documents, and compliance matrices.
- Ability to present technical information to varied audiences.
- Experience with electrical design calculations and analysis.
