Our client, a leader in advanced engineering solutions, is seeking a talented and innovative engineer to join their System Engineering team. This role involves designing and developing electrical and electronic solutions to support a range of cutting-edge systems and products.

About the Role:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and integrating electrical systems, from power distribution and control panels to analogue and digital circuits. You will play a key role in system evaluations, prototyping, testing, and technical documentation, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems, including power distribution, control panels, and instrumentation.
  • Develop and maintain analogue and digital circuits, including component selection and evaluation.
  • Conduct system requirement evaluations and define technical solutions.
  • Generate test documentation, interface specifications, and supplier reports.
  • Support the test department with prototype and first-of-class testing.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for customers and senior management.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and project management teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent demonstrable experience).
  • Strong electrical design skills, particularly in industrial wiring and system interconnection.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment for fault-finding and prototype testing.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills to support compliance and proposals.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to different audiences.
  • Experience with electrical design calculations and analysis.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with industry standards.
  • Familiarity with PCB layout packages.

Work Environment & Additional Requirements:

  • Modern, open-plan office environment.
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Occasional UK and international travel.
  • Operating in a fast-paced, high-precision engineering environment.
