Multi-Skilled Engineer - Norwich

Contract Personnel are looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer for reputable Manufacturing company based in Norwich.

How does the day-to-day look?

  • Abide by all statutory and company requirements with a focus on health and safety.
  • Undertake mechanical and electrical fault finding to diagnose any machinery or plant issues and repair as required.
  • Identify any opportunities for improvement in equipment maintainability and reliability.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical project work when required.
  • Perform as necessary any mechanical and or electrical planned/preventative maintenance activities ensuring completion in line with set schedules and expected level of engineering standard.
  • Perform continuous improvement modifications as and where required
  • Identify equipment failure trends and proactively take action to eliminate or reduce equipment-based losses including major breakdowns, minor stoppages and quality related defects.
  • Cooperate with engineering and production colleagues to better schedule and prioritise both breakdowns and planned activities.
  • Effective communication within the engineering team to ensure knowledge is freely shared to enable all members of the team to effectively carry out their tasks.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors regarding technical support and fault finding, identification and ordering of spares and services, technical documentation and machinery upgrades.
  • Ensure Risk and COSHH Assessments are up-to-date and relevant to the activities being performed.

You will have:

  • Apprentice or C&G/NVQ trained.
  • Mechanical & Electrical skilled.
  • Able to read & understand hydraulic/pneumatic drawings.
  • Able to read & understand electrical/Electronic schematics.
  • Microsoft; Word, Excel, Access
  • Min. 5 years in Maintenance role.
  • PPM/TPM experience.
  • PLC diagnostics (desirable).
  • Glass/ window/ extrusion industry experience (desirable).
  • Risk Assessments (desirable).
  • COSHH Assessments (desirable).
  • CMMS Familiarity (desirable).
  • MTTR & MTTF monitoring (desirable).
  • Welding; MIG & TIG (desirable).

Schedule:  Night shifts

Flexibility is required to enable work outside of normal working hours and at weekends, Dependent on production demands

Salary: Up to £48,000 DOE
