We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in operating, maintaining, troubleshoot and repair single and multiple feed of potable and non-potable treatment works and systems.

About the role:

In this role, you will be responsible for starting, operating, adjusting, and stopping wastewater treatment processes and equipment, ensuring smooth operations within a controlled compound. You will also maintain, repair, and troubleshoot complex systems while following safety practices to maintain a safe work environment. Your hours of work will be 39 hours per week on a fixed schedule Mon-Fri (Apply online only) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization’s flexible working policies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Start, operate, adjust, and stop wastewater treatment processes and equipment.
  • Maintain, repair, test, and plan installations or modifications of complex systems.
  • Troubleshoot system failures on plant and auxiliary equipment.
  • Follow established safety practices and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Handle occasional exposure to communicable diseases or infectious matter when changing filters.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical, including immunizations.

About you:

As a Mechanical Technician, you must hold a City and Guilds/NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant discipline (i.e. Mechanical and or electrical engineering). You will troubleshoot complex issues using test procedures and measuring instruments, such as gauges and meters, to assess operational status and adjust. You will interpret diagrams and manuals for emergencies or system malfunctions and operate wastewater and water treatment plants using computer-controlled equipment. Preventive maintenance and repairs on wastewater treatment, auxiliary, and pollution control equipment are also required, along with adherence to safety regulations.  You will need a City and Guilds/NVQ Level 2 in an appropriate discipline and a Valid CAT B driving license required to operate motor vehicles.

All successful applicants will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK.

This position may have certain restrictions to US citizens including US dual nationals due to the Status of Forces Agreement.
