We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating highly complex systems of electronic sensing and control.

About the role:

In this role, you will plan and execute work based on electrical and electronic diagrams, perform testing and calibration of complex systems, and maintain and repair electronically controlled systems. You will follow safety protocols and maintain a secure and clean work environment.

The hours of work will be 39 hours per week on a fixed schedule Mon-Fri 07.30-16.00 where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organisation’s flexible working policies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lay out work from electrical and electronic block diagrams, schematics, and technical orders.
  • Perform pretest, operational, and final testing, as well as tuning, alignment, and calibration of electronic systems.
  • Install, overhaul, repair, and modify electronically controlled systems and components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
  • Follow safety and security practices to ensure a safe, clean, and secure work environment.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical at RAF Lakenheath.

About you:

You will have comprehensive knowledge of complex electronic systems, including their operation, capabilities, and limitations, along with expertise in electronic theory, circuits, and Boolean algebra. You will be skilled in troubleshooting, testing, calibrating, repairing, and installing electronic systems, and proficient in using hand and power tools and test equipment. You will also be familiar with related electrical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as safety, environmental, and security regulations. Additionally, you will be able to read and interpret technical data such as schematics and technical orders and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping. You should have a valid CAT B driver’s license and

Level III NVQ/HND/HNC/BTEC, City and Guilds, or equivalent qualifications in an relevant position (i.e Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Engineering or Manufacturing, Processing and Control).
