Contract Personnel Thetford are pleased to be working with one of their well-established clients who are looking for a Factory Operative to join their team on a temp ongoing basis that could lead to perm.

Personal Competencies:

  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure maximum productivity
  • Previous packing experience is preferred
  • Comfortable working to targets and deadlines
  • Ability to take responsibility for assigned tasks
  • Basic IT knowledge, as you’ll be required to print off labels and complete internal training
  • Own transport is required due to rural location
  • Ideally, a full UK driving license for occasional collections and deliveries
  • Eagerness to learn, develop and contribute to the company objectives by undertaking additional tasks
  • Physically fit as this role involves heavy lifting

Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. The collating, picking, packing and labelling of customer orders based on packing sheets.
  1. Packing items for stock as requested.
  1. Picking and packing of aluminium to send for powder coating.
  1. Reporting of any quality issues to a senior team member.
  1. Cleaning your workstation at the end of each shift.
  1. Collaborating with the team to conduct quarterly stock checks accurately and on time.
  1. Loading and unloading deliveries
  1. Performing general warehouse duties.
  1. Assisting in other departments as needed.
  1. Complying with company risk assessments and following all Health and Safety regulations.

Hours of Work:

Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:15, with opportunities for overtime during busy periods

1 x 20 min paid break and 1 x 15-minute unpaid break

Hourly Rate:                          

Starting rate is £11.90 for standard hours. This increases to £12.50 for standard hours upon completion of a successful probationary period.
