Reed Finance Norwich are delighted to be working exclusively to recruit a dynamic and entrepreneurial Finance Director to join our client's leadership team, which includes the Operations Director, Growing Director, and Managing Director. This role is pivotal as our client embarks on a new and exciting chapter of growth and excellence.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Provide clear and regular financial insights to the Directors and senior team to aid decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Lead the operational financial team, ensuring effective management and oversight at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and market dynamics affecting the company sector, providing strategic recommendations based on analysis.
  • Evaluate and approve new business project proposals and investments.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage key banking relationships, and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and support growth initiatives.
  • Proactively identify profit, income, and margin improvement opportunities across all areas of the business.
  • Collaborate with various operational teams to identify opportunities and mitigate risks to achieve annual financial targets.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process, involving all relevant budget holders.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and tax returns in compliance with UK regulations and standards.
  • Manage the annual audit and preparation of monthly management accounts and board packs.
  • Implement cost-saving measures to increase profitability and continually optimize the finance operation to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Develop professional relationships with our clients’ finance counterparts and their teams
  • Management of small finance team

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management and accounting principles.
  • Expertise in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and management.
  • Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations and compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and innovate within the finance team.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on strategic thinking and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and cooperation at all levels of the organisation.
