Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist
Location: Southern Hill Hospital, Mundesley Rd, Norwich NR11 8ET
Rate of Pay: 拢200,000 per annum
Hours of Work: 40 hrs a week, permanent role
Benefits: 25 days Annual leave + Bank holidays. 1 week paid sickness.
Southern Hill Hospital has 53 mental health beds across five wards. The Hospital is able to offer a 24 hour acute admission service within a safe and secure environment.
Our registered hospital is dedicated to providing specialised care for men and women aged 18 and above, who are struggling with severe mental distress. These individuals find themselves in situations where safe care within the community is not feasible.
Our acute inpatient mental health services support people of working age who may be detained under section of the Mental Health Act or they may be admitted informally to ensure a seamless transition to ensure continuity of care and treatment.
About the Role:
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in providing person centred care to our inpatients. Working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary teams, you will typically manage a caseload of 14-16 patients, ensuring they receive comprehensive and effective mental health support. In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to autonomously lead teaching sessions for junior doctors and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality clinical care for inpatients. 路 Manage a caseload of 14-16 patients. 路 Work autonomously and contribute to teaching sessions. 路 Collaborate with a well-established multi-disciplinary team which includes OT, psychologist, visiting GP, physical health practitioner and RMNs. 路 Participate in an on-call rota.
What We Offer:

About the Service:
Magna House Hospital's acute inpatient Mental Health service provides a safe and stabilising environment for individuals in crisis who require emergency admission. Service users may be informal or detained under the Mental Health Act. Our 29-bed inpatient unit in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, focuses on assessing and treating service users in the least restrictive environment, with an emphasis on planning for discharge in a timely fashion.
