The Role
Our client are seeking a Post Exchange Assistant to join their Residential Property team. You will assist in delivering residential property legal services to clients.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Post Exchange Assistant, your main duties will include:
- Preparing the memorandum of exchange and all post-exchange correspondence
- Completing Stamp Duty Land Tax returns
- Preparing Certificates of Title for submission to lenders
- Handling Help to Buy submissions and relevant paperwork
- Preparing completion statements
- Updating Help to Buy with completed documents and registration
- Managing LMS and relevant portals with all post-completion tasks
- Reviewing files to ensure Stamp Duty and Registrations were submitted
- Responding to client, solicitor, and agent enquiries via telephone, email, or post
- Liaising with lenders and service providers to progress matters
- Ordering and conducting Land Registry searches
- Preparing completion statements and apportionments on leasehold properties
- Arranging payments to Management Companies
- Conducting meetings and interviews with clients
- Assessing legal issues and providing advice
- Drafting documents and letters
- Assisting Partners within the Property Team as needed
- Developing long-term client relationships
- Attending business development activities
- Pursuing referral agreements with local and national Agents
- Promoting and cross-selling firm services
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
We are looking for candidates with knowledge of Residential Property Conveyancing. Experience in Post Exchange work is beneficial, but full training will be provided.
- Previous experience in residential conveyancing
- Experience in a process-driven environment
- Ability to conduct legal research
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong commercial awareness with client focus
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Flexible approach to work
- Experience with Case Management/Peppermint (training provided)
- Strong IT skills
- Willingness to learn new skills
