Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Production Planner to join the team in coordinating and planning production schedules. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business processes and mechanical knowledge to ensure efficient production operations.

The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating the efficient flow of raw materials (RMs), intermediates, and into finished goods through the production process. This role is critical in ensuring that production schedules align with customer demands and company goals. The Planner will collaborate closely with various departments, including the site management team, commercial managers, and the trading manager to optimise production operations, minimise delays, and ensure timely delivery to customers.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely production flow
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust schedules as needed
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency
- Utilise systems for scheduling and tracking purposes
- Oversee quality control measures in the production process
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimise material availability

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience within a production planning, supply chain management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in business processes related to production scheduling
  • Ability to assemble and interpret data for scheduling purposes
  • Mechanical knowledge to understand production requirements
  • Proficient in production planning software, ERP systems and the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Strong focus on quality control practices
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
