Our client, a leading developer in the renewables sector, is currently seeking a Senior HSE Advisor to join their offshore windfarm project on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and provide professional HSE knowledge and guidance to managers, supervisors, employees, and contractors on safe work practices and legal regulations.
- Maintain HSE expert knowledge on best practices and legal requirements to ensure conformity.
- Support and promote the development and use of management systems.
- Lead and promote a proactive HSE culture through cultural engagement and knowledge sharing.
- Support the development, implementation, and use of HSE documentation and management systems.
- Plan and facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, briefings, safety walks, and inspections.
- Review HSE documentation, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Monitor and assess internal and external HSE performance using the clients incident reporting tool.
- Coordinate and report safety inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
- Participate in audits and follow up on findings from HSE related audits and inspections.
Job Requirements:
- Relevant academic or technical background.
- Experience in HSE, ideally from onshore renewables or windfarm construction.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of Synergi is beneficial.
- Experience in dealing with 3rd party contractors regarding HSE matters.
- Completed NEBOSH qualification (minimum level 3), or similar recognised HSE qualification.
- Current clean UK driver's licence and in-date site safety passport (CCNSG or CSCS).
- Strong analytical, structured approach to workload and proactive risk management.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- QHSE BSc, Diploma, or equivalent level 6 qualification.
- NEBOSH or IEMA Environmental Management qualifications.
- Qualified or certified Auditor.
- Experience in delivering training courses and materials.
Working Conditions/Location:
The role is onshore site-based in Norfolk, covering areas from Sheringham to Norwich. Flexibility is required for occasional off-site visits for company and supplier meetings, which may be overseas.
- Normal shift pattern: 5-day week (Monday - Friday), 8-hour days.
- Some flexibility for occasional working from home if authorised by project management.
- Applicants must live within 60 minutes travel time of the site.
