SHEQ Manager

We are seeking a SHEQ Manager to lead our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality team. This pivotal role will ensure excellence in health, safety, quality, and wellbeing, embedding a culture of safe working, environmental awareness, and quality across the company. The SHEQ Manager will be instrumental in delivering the company’s health & safety strategy, reducing workplace accidents, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide leadership and direction for the SHEQ team, fostering a proactive safety culture within the company.
  • Develop and implement health and safety management systems, ensuring effective and accurate reporting of data and statistics.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to establish a continuous improvement framework for SHEQ.
  • Drive regulatory and legislative compliance, adhering to the company’s Health and Safety Policy and procedures.
  • Lead on CDM regulations, control of asbestos regulations, and the building safety act to ensure compliance.
  • Engage with senior management to support operational safety and provide sound advice and direction.
  • Be present on-site to support off-site risk assessments and engage with the workforce to embed a safety culture.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, making recommendations for change and monitoring near-miss data to reduce workplace accidents.
  • Develop and maintain company policies in line with Health & Safety legislation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Chartered Membership of a recognised industry body such as IIRSM or IOSH is desirable.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, promoting a positive Health and Safety culture.
  • Strategic leadership experience with the ability to gain trust and respect from peers.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points to meet the travel requirements of the role.
