Competence Assurance AdvisorNorwich, UKMonday to Friday (occasional site visits required)An exciting opportunity has arisen to help shape the future of competence assurance with our client in the Oil & Gas industry.We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Competence Assurance Advisor to join the Norwich-based team. This is a key role in supporting and evolving our client's Competence Management System (CMS), ensuring it's effectively implemented and integrated across all levels of the organisation and at all sites.Working closely with the HR and QSSHE teams, you will help align competence initiatives with our client's Learning & Development Policy and safety-critical standards. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of competence across both staff and contractors.Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the rollout and implementation of CMS updates across all locations and job roles.
  • Ensure smooth integration of CMS changes into day-to-day operations, including site visits and hands-on support.
  • Act as an Internal Verifier by auditing assessors and sampling assessments during site visits.
  • Gather feedback from the field to support continuous improvement of the CMS.
  • Help monitor and define safety-critical roles and ensure they are correctly captured within the CMS.
  • Collect and report on competency data to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with HR and QSSHE teams, as well as subject matter experts, to develop competency frameworks for roles not yet included in the CMS.
  • Identify areas of low CMS compliance and lead targeted interventions to address gaps.
  • Provide training and support to internal Assessors throughout the CMS rollout process.
  • Act as a deputy for the Lead Competence Assurance Advisor when required.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working within a training, competence, or quality assurance function (preferably in the energy sector).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Detail-focused with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working across various teams and operational locations.
  • Knowledge of competence systems and safety-critical role management is highly desirable.
