2nd Line Support Engineer

£28,000 - £34,000 DOE

Are you an IT Technician/Engineer and feel like you’re being held back in your current role. This local MSP encourage their Engineers to get involved in all levels of tickets, whilst still be dedicated to their most comfortable level of ability.

With a "Teamwork" approach to getting through tickets, your day-to-day will be mixed from standard service desk problems to project planning and implementation. You will be supported in your growth through training and gaining the right qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Escalation point for first line support engineers
  • Diagnosing desktop and network connectivity issues
  • Troubleshooting issues both remotely and in person, as required
  • Nurture first line engineers as required to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Configuring new hardware as per project specifications and installing on-site
  • Monitor ticketing system for any issues that can be escalated from first line engineers to ensure their availability for new calls/emails
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call support rota and occasional pre-planned out-of-hours project work

Technical Skills:

  • Experienced with Windows OS and Windows Server
  • TCP/IP networking including Firewalls, VPN, DNS, DHCP and other network protocols
  • Troubleshooting/configuring networking hardware
  • Experience with Virtualisation in Hyper-V or Azure
  • Experience with Active Directory and GPO’s
  • Familiar Microsoft 365 administration including Entra, Intune, Exchange and SharePoint
  • Experience with IP Telephony systems
  • Knowledge of common cyber security standards
  • Understanding of Microsoft licencing models
