Our client has an excellent opportunity for an IT Technician Apprentice to join their team. You will receive practical, hands-on experience from day one, working on a wide variety of tasks to help you to build your skills whilst spending one day a week studying for your qualifications. The role is working Monday to Friday and will be office based when not studying.

The IT department works as a team in providing an efficient IT service to all the users. The job holder is responsible for providing first line IT support to staff, partners and consultants e.g. basic IT diagnosis and fix, undertaking routine maintenance of resources and equipment, support of common software packages used. As an apprentice you will follow an Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship.

Some of the duties will include

  • To provide first line IT support and to work with other members of the IT department in resolving day to day IT problems, ensuring that all queries are recorded and followed up as necessary.
  • To log and maintain calls with both software and hardware maintenance providers ensuring that the calls are responded to in accordance with the IT SLA.
  • To carry out installation, maintenance and first line repairs of IT hardware and networks (includes computers, laptops, tablets, telephones, servers etc.)
  • To assist with the installation, maintenance and updates of new and current software.
  • To carry out daily checks of equipment in the meeting rooms.
  • To learn and develop a thorough working and support knowledge of all software products used by the firm.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.

The course

You will work towards your Comptia A+ through a preferred supplier which will depend on the job holder’s location.
