IT Support Technician

We are seeking an IT Support Technician to provide comprehensive on-site helpdesk and IT support services. The role is primarily based in the Norwich or Cambridge office.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Operate and control installed hardware and software, including maintenance, asset management, cleaning, and testing across multiple platforms.
  • Monitor, log, and report tasks, addressing known or moderately complex problems and escalating to specialists when necessary.
  • Process up to 100 service desk tickets per week as part of the firm’s service desk team.
  • Manage the movement, storage, and dispatch of data, media consumables, and other items required for processing work.
  • Respond to user enquiries and take appropriate action within defined limits to manage processing priorities, run tests, and facilitate the installation, removal, upgrading, and repair of equipment.
  • Instruct less experienced colleagues in routine tasks, ensuring adherence to procedures related to malfunction, safety, and security.
  • Support and maintain the firm’s core IT infrastructure, including laptops, operating systems, data networks, Internet connections, and telephone systems.
  • Assist in maintaining application software systems such as Microsoft Office suite, Practice Management System, Interaction CRM system, Worksite document management system, etc.
  • Configure directories and user distribution lists.
  • Support the IT Support Management Team with hardware and software installations or modifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in an IT Helpdesk environment.
  • Awareness of basic data patching.
  • Familiarity with laptops, PC hardware, printers, and scanners.
  • Ability to self-manage, set priorities, and meet targets despite challenging circumstances.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information understandably to diverse audiences.
