Workshop Operative

Our client, a successful manufacturing business close to Norwich, are currently seeking a Workshop Operative to join their team.

This is initially a temporary role, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

This role is Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm, due to seasonal variations these hours can be variable.

The ideal candidate will have a good engineering aptitude and will be of a practical nature and work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist with or complete the construction, production and assembly of cases and affiliated products using a variety of hand tools or power tools, complying at all times with the company’s defined practices and methods
  • To fabricate and assemble sub-assemblies with sufficient lead time to enable others to complete more complex products as scheduled
  • Liaise with the Workshop Manager, to implement work schedules to ensure the timely completion of all sales orders
  • Ensure a high standard of quality production with continuous improvement, reporting any problems or potential problems to the Workshop Manager
  • Train to be able to carry out the maximum range of tasks, for which they are capable, within the workshop department
  • Comply with all aspects of the Health and Safety procedures at all times, ensuring any concerns are brought to the attention of the Workshop Manager without delay
  • Ensure that all defined personal protection equipment is utilised within the workshop or for the safe use of hand held tools e.g. hand routers, grinders, etc
