Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter seeking a new challenge in a fast-paced environment? Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects in a modern, open-plan facility where no two days are the same.

Job Purpose:

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for surveying, dismantling, and assembling mechanical equipment. You will work on a variety of assemblies, from component level to complete systems, ensuring all equipment is manufactured to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Survey, build, and manufacture items from component to assembly level.
  • Work closely with the MRO Manager and receive work instructions.
  • Record survey results and log working hours in the company ERP system.
  • Assist in training and supporting other personnel within the MRO and Fitting teams.
  • Ensure all work is performed to meet deadlines without compromising on Health & Safety or quality standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completed a recognized apprenticeship as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Builder, or Assembly Technician.
  • Minimum NVQ / City & Guilds level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong bench fitting skills, with experience using hand and electric tools.
  • Proficient in using manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and pedestal drills.
  • Experience working with precision measurement equipment such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
  • Familiarity with lifting and slinging equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical engineering drawings.
