Newsroom Editor

Annual Salary: 50-60k DOE

Location: Norwich

Job Type: Full-time, office-based

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the Newsroom activities
  • Proactively sell stories to financial and consumer journalists, producers, and editors.
  • Appear on-air, representing the brand and unique data on platforms like BBC News, Sky News, ITV News, and various radio stations.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with UK journalists and build new connections through effective networking.
  • Research and write press releases and content, manage on-air appearances, and report back on media coverage and successes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Journalism, PR, or a related field, or a relevant professional qualification.
  • Significant hands-on experience in press and public relations
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong media relationships in a fast-paced news environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills, with an ability to communicate complex information simply and clearly.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work proactively and reactively.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team-oriented, with a passion for achieving results and driving media coverage.
