The OpportunityWe're looking for a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner with strong commercial awareness and technical proficiency to lead key client projects and provide in-depth planning expertise. This position involves managing projects, delivering client-focused planning solutions, and supporting the team's technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary contact, delivering planning advice and guiding projects from inception to completion.
- Team Development: Supervise and mentor team members, supporting professional growth and technical excellence.
- Business Development: Contribute to business development efforts through participation in bids and project proposals.
- Project Oversight: Manage project segments, meeting deadlines and budget goals, and ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Application Submissions: Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and pre-application inquiries while conducting thorough site appraisals.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with community members, committees, contractors, and stakeholders to secure positive project outcomes.
- Innovative Solutions: Continuously improve services and outcomes through creative and efficient approaches to client needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: RTPI-accredited degree or master's in Planning or a related field.
- Professional Membership: Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or working towards it is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum two years in a relevant planning role within the public or private sector.
