Our client is a modern, technologically advanced and forward-thinking business that helps clients with all aspects of moving house including selling, buying, mortgages and more recently, Residential Conveyancing. Their aim is to make the lives of clients much simpler during what is often a very stressful time. They are currently looking for a Head of Legal Practice to join and develop the legal side of their business. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified, dynamic individual with previous experience in a compliance role within a Residential Conveyancing setting to join a fantastic business model and progress.

Duties

  • Ensuring the overall compliance with the terms and conditions of the firm’s CLC authorisation
  • Updating all internal compliance policies and overall compliance plan, incorporating any changes into the firm’s procedures and ensuring that everybody is aware of them
  • Keeping on top of all regulatory and other compliance changes
  • Training staff on compliance and quality client service to ensure a more than satisfactory client experience
  • Reporting directly to the Head of Conveyancing and Directors on compliance matters and internal policy creation
  • Providing regular reports on the status of the firm’s compliance arrangements
  • Overseeing and signing off all lead generation and service advertisements to ensure all relevant CLC marketing requirements are met
  • Understanding and implementing other areas of compliance such as training and CPD obligations and more
  • Giving presentations to staff about compliance and other matters
  • This is not an exhaustive list and other duties and responsibilities may vary

You

  • You must have a minimum of 6 years’ PQE (CILEx, CLC, SQE etc.)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a compliance role working in a legal practice
  • Dynamic people person who is technically and legally astute
  • Ability to problem solve and think outside of the box
  • Approachable team player
  • Previous experience dealing with client complaints and KYC and money laundering procedures
  • Previous experience overseeing and ensuring compliance of a firm’s regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing SRA authorisation
  • Ability to consider client care documentation and firm terms and conditions to ensure compliance with relevant rules
  • Understanding of transparency rules
  • Previous experience with compliant advertising and lead generation
  • Previous experience with firm wide risk assessments
  • Previous experience undertaking and conducting in-house regulatory training
  • Ability to devise and implement internal compliance failure reporting processes
