Our client is recruiting an exciting new role for their rapidly expanding business portfolio in the hospitality and food manufacturing industry.

Working as part of the senior management team, they are recruiting an experienced bakery operations manager to take charge of and run this area of the business, which provides baked goods not only to their traditional bakery but also to the industry including multiple hotels, pubs, farm shops, cafes and restaurants both in the group and outside.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced entrepreneurial style manager to join the business, driven by a dynamic and keen senior management team, who have big expansion plans for all areas of the business over the next 5 years.

Job Role:

Day-to-day management of both sites to ensure delivery of top-quality products with rigorous checks whilst ensuring cost efficiency in the production process

Drive continuous improvement including product development whilst increasing profitability

Supervise and evaluate equipment, current processes and procedure and make recommendations for improvements (including automatic where required) and implement these recommendations as part of the overall business strategy

Oversee production schedules to ensure timely deliveries, cost controls (including ingredients, labour, etc.)

Manage inventories, including stock management and stock levels across all sites

Be hands on as and when required and train staff to a high standard

Manage risk assessments whilst ensuring high standards of quality and safety in line with statute

Role requirements:

Strong and proven managerial experience with the ability to lead and challenge teams minimum 5 years

Proven bakery experience

Experience in operational assessment and automation

Understanding of P&L and cost controls

Train, develop and lead multi-site staff

Bakery and food production background essential

Proven track record in continuous improvement

Ability to own the business and drive it forward

Team player

Excellent communications

Driving licence
