Equipment Manufacturing & Assemblyc. £75,000 + Bonus + Car + BenefitsNorwichThe RoleReporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will be instrumental in developing, defining, and implementing the strategy for the engineering department. In addition, your key responsibilities will also include:

  • Working closely with the Operations Director to lead, manage and develop a customer focused engineering team
  • To embed best practises in continuous improvement, value engineering and design for manufacturing
  • Engagement with the relevant stake holder's customers, suppliers and manufacturers to drive improvements in reliability and cost of goods
  • Play a key role in interpreting customer needs, being the Voice of the Customer both internally and externally and be directly involved in the development and introduction of new products

The CandidateIdeally with a Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, this role requires an individual with extensive knowledge of "best practises" in CI, value engineering, DFM, together with NPD/NPI. Your CV and experience MUST also demonstrate your capability and achievements in:

  • Leading, managing and mentoring an engineering team and function, while setting standards for best practises in modern manufacturing techniques
  • Be able to demonstrate a highly successful track record of delivering NPD/NPI projects on time and within budget
  • Strong team management skills, strategic planning, together with extensive experience of root cause analysis and problem resolution
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability influence and persuade at all levels
