Your new company
Operating both in the UK and across the world, they are a leading contractor delivering projects across multiple sectors including; real estate, defence, education, highways, rail and water.

Your new role
Working on a major highways improvement scheme in the Norfolk region, they require a Senior Planning Engineer to work with the planning manager to develop, maintain and update the project programme. You will work closely with the site team and suppliers, clearly communicating the programme strategy, leading short-term programming and analysing the programme outputs to introduce efficiencies and eliminate waste.

Key Duties to include:

  • Assist in maintaining and updating main project programme, performance indicators and progress records, deliver collaborative planning and short-term programmes and prepare programme submission documents.
  • Work with project team and suppliers to produce and maintain collaborative look-ahead programmes that align with the main programme.
  • Maintain programme and interpret outputs, work with the project team to identify and implement solutions, drive efficiencies, eliminating waste and reasons for delay.
  • Communication of the programme to customers.
  • Assist with the development of planners and assistant planners.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Construction experience and technical understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques and best practices.
  • Understanding of various forms of construction documents, contracts and specifications.
  • Experience in both design and construction phase planning
  • Experience of various methods of planning, programming, and progress monitoring.
  • Understanding of risk and opportunity management with particular reference to planning/programming
  • Understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements
