Contract Personnel are thrilled to partner with the UK’s leading provider of personal finance data in their search for a Press & PR Manager to join their dynamic Press Office and take the lead in enhancing the organisation’s reputation and profile.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and passionate individual to play a central role in the organisation’s media presence. When national and regional media seek independent, impartial insights and commentary, they turn to us as a trusted source. The Press & PR Manager will not only have their name in print but will be the face of the organisation, actively engaging in media appearances on TV and Radio, including BBC News, Sky News, ITV News, BBC Radio, and other regional and national stations.

The successful candidate will take charge of proactively pitching stories to financial and consumer journalists, producers, and editors, with occasional on-air appearances to communicate the brand and its unique data to the largest possible audience. While this role will build on existing relationships with UK journalists, it will also require the individual to develop new media connections.

As a key spokesperson for the brand, the role involves a hands-on approach, including writing press releases and content, appearing on-air, and providing updates to the business on media coverage and success.

Personal SpecificationYou should have a degree in Journalism, PR, or a related field, or a professional qualification, alongside significant practical experience in press and public relations, ideally within the finance sector.You will bring substantial knowledge in dealing with broadcast, consumer, and trade print and online media, with a proven ability to cultivate strong networks of journalistic contacts.With a wealth of experience in building and maintaining media relationships in a fast-paced, proactive, and reactive news environment, you will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to quickly identify key messages from data and stories to communicate them effectively.Being proactive is just as important to you as following processes, and you’ll be driven by the coverage generated by both yourself and your team.You’ll possess excellent written and verbal English skills, an understanding of how nuance influences communications, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.Your collaborative approach and passion for delivering results will make you an asset to the team.
