A leading top 50 accountancy firm are seeking to hire into their payroll team in Norwich for a Payroll Associate.

You will work to support the Payroll Manager, as part of the payroll team, helping to manage and accurately process a number of payrolls, including onboarding and processing using Brightpay payroll software.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Handle payroll setup for new starters and process leavers to ensure accurate payroll adjustments.
  • Process statutory entitlements like maternity, paternity, and sick pay in line with legal requirements.
  • Manage deductions and contributions for various workplace pension schemes, ensuring compliance with auto-enrollment laws.
  • Efficiently set up high volumes of new payroll accounts with accuracy.
  • Work closely with clients on an online portal to confirm payroll changes and updates.
  • Calculate and manage Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) payments and deductions, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Manage payroll queries related to PAYE, liaising directly with HMRC as needed.

Use Excel to organize and track payroll tasks, ensuring accurate client records and easy reference.

  • Deliver proactive, high-quality service to clients, keeping them informed and responsive to their business needs.
  • Keep detailed and organized records to maintain compliance and client reference.
  • Keep knowledge current by attending payroll training and staying informed on legislative changes.
  • Assist with team phone and email support as needed, maintaining flexibility and teamwork.
