Our client is a local housing authority providing maintenance services to properties across the Norwich area.

They are currently recruiting for an experienced plasterer/multi-trade to work on a domestic maintenance contract carrying out work in properties across the area. This could include major works, void refurbishment or response maintenance.

Monday-Friday - 39 hours per week with 3pm finish on Fridays

Self - Employed and PAYE options available.

This is a mobile engineer role and own van required for the first 12 weeks. If the role becomes permanent van and tools will be provided.

The candidate will ideally be a skilled and experienced plasterer who also holds skills in other trades such as carpentry, painting, tiling, fencing repairs.

The successful individual will ideally hold a minimum level NVQ or be time-served in plastering whilst also being experienced in completing various other day to day repairs/maintenance tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, tiling, roofing, painting and decorating, fencing etc. As a skilled multi- trade operative with relevant experience in responsive maintenance and voids works you will be required to undertake a variety of allocated works across the Norwich area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

-Management of day to day jobs allocated by a central team.
-Updating PDA devices with key information and work schedules.
-To ensure all assigned tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient standard.
-Promoting the clients corporate image and excellent service standard on every resident visit.
-Making decisions upon specialist experience and knowledge.
-Ensuring compliance at all times with necessary regulations, standards, and legal responsibilities of repair work and
contractor compliance.
-Managing van stock effectively.
Taking part in out of hours on call system as required by the service. Currently one week in six if working on Response
Maintenance. Additional call out payments for this.

Knowledge and Experience

-Experience within a domestic maintenance environment.
-Plasterer / Multi Trade experience
-Excellent customer service skills as will be working in tenanted properties
-Certificates and Qualifications
-Trade City & Guilds/ NVQ qualification (Preferred)

Full UK driving license & own van.

The role is initially offered on a temp-perm basis leading to a full time position with the company after 12 weeks continuous service as long as performance and standards are met.
