Hiring Teaching Assistants for a Special Needs School !

Type: Full Time only (Term-Time)

Timings: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Salary: £13/hr - £14/hr

Location: West Norwich

About School: Special school for children with complex needs and/or autism. The provision offers an education to children from reception through to Year 13. Children attending the school all have an Education, Health and Care Plan identifying their needs.

Job Description:

  • To work with teachers as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for pupils within the classroom or 1:1 . Providing learning support to pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or behaviouralsocial, communication, sensory or physical disabilities.
  • Establish a supportive relationship with students and develop methods to promote/reinforce their self-esteem
  • Follow reporting procedures in relation to behaviour issues and causes for concern.
  • To develop links with parents, carers and agencies by ensuring helpful and responsive communication at all times regarding the safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils
  • To promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils, ensuring that the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and procedures are promoted within the School
  • Support pupils on outdoor activities

Requirements:

  • Right To Work in the UK (NO SPONSORSHIP)
  • a passion for working with pupils with Special Needs.
  • a flexible and enthusiastic attitude and a commitment to embed a positive culture of learning amongst staff and students
  • Proficient in English language and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Personal or professional experience with children
  • Recent university gradutes (Psychology / Sociology / Public Health) are welcome to apply as well
