2Are you an experienced and dynamic professional in the field of estimating? We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Estimating to lead our team and drive our projects to success. Join Anglian Building Products the commercial contracting division of Anglian Home Improvements and contribute to our continued growth and excellence.

Operating across England, Scotland and Wales, we serve both the public and private sectors, our clients include social landlords, military, main contractors, education, health and developers.

The ideal Head of Estimating has experience in construction or engineering, strong leadership skills, and expertise in cost estimation, bid preparation, and risk analysis. They are detail-oriented, proficient with estimating software, and excel in client interaction, team management, and optimising project costs for profitability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the estimating team, providing guidance and support.
  • Develop and maintain estimation methodologies, tools, and databases.
  • Analyse project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and value engineering to optimize project costs.
  • Coordinate the preparation of bids and proposals, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with client requirements.
  • Engage with clients to discuss and clarify project requirements and negotiate costs and terms.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for each estimate.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in the estimating process.
  • Contribute to the company's strategic planning and business development efforts.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior estimating role (Head of Estimating, Chief Estimator, Lead Estimator, or Senior Estimator).
  • Strong background in construction or engineering industries.
  • Expertise in estimating, cost estimation, bid preparation, cost analysis, project evaluation, and cost management.
  • Excellent team management and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in analysing project specifications, blueprints, risk analysis, and value engineering.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of market trends and cost optimisation techniques.
  • Strong client interaction, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
