Role Overview


We are hiring a Freelance Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial operations on key infrastructure projects within our Highways Division. This role is ideal for a seasoned quantity surveyor with expertise in contract management, financial oversight, and project profitability. You will play a central role in ensuring efficient project delivery and client satisfaction across a range of high-value contracts.



Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Administration: Serve as the lead on commercial matters for allocated projects, ensuring compliance, cost control, and performance.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, fostering professional development and performance.
  • Client Engagement: Build and sustain relationships with clients, aligning project goals with client needs for optimal results.
  • Financial Management: Oversee cost reviews, forecasting, and monthly financial analysis to ensure projects stay on budget and meet financial targets.
  • Supply Chain & Risk Management: Lead negotiations, manage supply chain accounts, and conduct risk analyses to maximize margins and minimize risks.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior quantity surveying role, ideally within frameworks or collaborative project environments.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in commercial management systems, risk management, and IT tools (e.g., MS Office Suite).
  • Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar; professional membership (e.g., MCIOB or MRICS) preferred.
