Clearfield Recruitment have partnered with a leading company in the Construction industry. We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial expertise to aid with the delivery of the contracted work by taking the commercial lead in a geographical focused team. The provision of accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to the to the management team whilst ensuring the contract achieves the appropriate commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities of this position will include;

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting, meeting agreed timescales.
  • Oversee contract performance to meet cost, quality, and time targets.
  • Manage and coordinate main contract payment applications and subcontractor payments, ensuring compliance with terms.
  • Provide mentorship, support, and professional development opportunities for your team.
  • Collaborate closely with delivery managers to support operational goals and customer relationships.
  • Maintain commercial reports and forecasts, ensuring profitability.
  • Handle subcontract accounts, from procurement and payments to final accounts.
  • Identify and manage variations, maximizing value recovery through accurate measurement and claims.
  • Liaise with the office manager to ensure cost accuracy and effective material buying practices.
  • Contribute to health, safety, and environmental standards in alignment with company policy.
  • Provide training and guidance on contracts, schedules of rates, and commercial processes.

Qualifications & Skills required for this position include;

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent commercially related discipline.
  • Working towards or holding membership with RICS/CIOB.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, contractual, and construction practices.
  • Experience managing quantity surveyors and subcontract accounts.
  • Proficiency in commercial systems (e.g., Sphere, COINS).
  • Familiarity with various forms of contracts and current legislation.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and resolve disputes.
