Your new companyOne of the UK's leading construction groups operating across the UK. You will be joining their Highways and Infrastructure division.Your new roleAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will collaborate closely with your line manager to oversee the commercial administration, reporting, and performance of either a single large project or multiple smaller schemes, in this case a major highway project.Key Accountabilities:Ensure a safe working environment.Prepare subcontract documentation, including the negotiation of terms and conditions, prices, and programme.Manage subcontract works packages, including interim assessments of amounts due and subsequent change management.Issue all required commercial notices to both the Client and Subcontractors in accordance with the contract.Oversee and manage changes promptly in accordance with the contract, including the preparation and submission of Compensation Event Quotations.Prepare, submit, and agree on monthly applications to the client in accordance with the contract.Liaise with operational and engineering staff to ensure site records meet the required standards.Prepare detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) as required by the business unit or project.Maintain a detailed 'Cost Plan,' tracking and forecasting expenditure, including detailed schedules of Subcontractor 'liabilities' and utilising Oracle-based cost analysesWhat you'll need to succeedExperience on major highways projects.Educational Background: Relevant degree and/or experience in a commercial environment.Professional Qualification: Ideally, an Incorporated member of MCIOB or MRICS, working towards full membership (Desirable).Project Experience: Experience working on large single projects or multiple smaller schemes.CSCS CertificationWhat you'll get in returnGenerous holiday entitlement that increases with years of service, with the option to purchase additional holidays.Comprehensive pension plan.Private medical scheme options available for all salaried employees, and a 24/7 employee assistance programme offering free support.Paid annual membership to one recognised professional association relevant to your role.Regular Save as You Earn share purchase scheme.Access to a wide range of corporate discounts.Participation in Cycle to Work schemes.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
