Our client is seeking an Installations Manager to join their team in Norwich.
This position offers a balanced mix of office-based coordination and on-site management, ensuring the smooth operation of our installation projects. We’re looking for a proactive individual with a strong background in the glazing industry and comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of glazing.
Primarily, you will be responsible for ensuring that all installation processes are completed on time and to the highest possible standard. You will liaise with internal and external customers to ensure that customer requirements are met and that the installation process is managed effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with and manage the installation teams on a daily basis to ensure the projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Manage the logistics of the installation process.
- Ensure that all safety regulations and procedures are followed.
- Oversee the schedules and ensure the work is being allocated in the most effective way for both the company and the customer.
- Liaise with customers when required.
- Attend sites with the installation teams regularly to ensure their work is being carried out to the highest possible standard.
- Assist with the installation of glazing products if and when required.
- Carry out post-installation checks (using installation checklist) to assess the performance of installation teams and the quality of the product on site, aiming to inspect each team's work a minimum of once a month.
- Write reports on each installation viewed, providing feedback to installers on positives and areas for improvement. Ensure they understand and have the required skills to make necessary improvements. Provide feedback on installers' performance at monthly department meetings with the CEO or earlier in the case of poor standards of work.
- Visit sites where customers have complaints and issues, write reports, and detail any necessary works and parts required to seek a satisfactory resolution.
- Work with ordering/installation departments to ensure outstanding works are prioritized so jobs are completed swiftly.
- Ensure vans are properly stocked before leaving base on Monday mornings.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed and any additional notes made.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Familiarise yourself with and keep up to date with all company policies and procedures in relation to health and safety, specifically regarding job procedures, COSHH, and risk management.
- Be responsible for your own health and safety at work and that of your colleagues.
- Read any health and safety updates issued by the company and implement any relevant changes.
Essential Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Proven years of experience in the glazing industry..
- A practical understanding of both technical and operational aspects of installations.
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience in people management.
- Experience in installing windows and doors.
