Reed Accountancy Norwich are partnering with an innovative and expanding manufacturing business in West Norwich to find a dedicated Finance Assistant. This role is integral to the finance team, ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day financial processes, providing cover for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, and supporting the Management Accountant. This role will give the successful candidate a chance to grow their accounting experience alongside the finance manager whilst providing vital day to day financial support.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Ensure smooth operation of day-to-day financial processes within the company.
  • Sales invoicing and sales/purchase ledger maintenance.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for nominated accounts.
  • Preparation of the weekly cheque run.
  • Control of company credit cards including posting of expenses and to the appropriate accounts.
  • Analysis of actual vs budget variances.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with VAT returns and compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and other financial reports.
  • Provide cover for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as needed.
  • Perform a range of administrative and financial tasks to support the finance team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes including AR and AP.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
