Finance Assistant

Join our client’s dedicated finance team as a Finance Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in achieving the strategic aim of financial sustainability. This role is perfect for someone looking to start out in their Accountancy career!
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide support to the Finance team in daily activities.
- Assist in liaising with budget holding staff regarding budget performance.
- Assist with the review and processing of monthly payroll reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Handle transactions, including journal entries, and reconcile monthly credit card, petty cash, and bank accounts.
- Support the preparation of monthly finance reports for budget holders, using financial systems and spreadsheets.
- Identify and investigate variances.
- Assist in budgeting activities and the preparation of year-end schedules, financial returns, and other ad-hoc financial projects.
- Perform general office administrative duties, including answering phones and maintaining records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial roles.
- Strong understanding of financial systems and transaction processing.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
