Complex Needs Support Worker

We are seeking a passionate Complex Needs Support Worker with experience in a special school setting to join our team. You will be working with a school that serves pupils aged 4 to 19 with a variety of learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical conditions.

Day to day of the role:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support to pupils with complex needs.
  • Assist pupils with personal care, mobility, communication, and learning.
  • Implement individual education plans, behaviour plans, and risk assessments.
  • Utilize various strategies and resources to engage pupils in learning activities.
  • Monitor and document pupils’ progress, achievements, and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to support pupil outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or relevant experience with complex needs.
  • Understanding of the needs of pupils with complex challenges.
  • Positive, patient, and empathetic approach to building rapport with pupils.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Willingness to engage in training and professional development.
