The Role: As a Residential Childrens Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day care and wellbeing of the young people in our care. You will: 路 Provide emotional support and guidance to children 路 Assist with daily routines such as school runs, meal preparation, and recreational activities. 路 Help maintain a safe, structured, and caring environment. 路 Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to implement care plans and behavioural support strategies. 路 Conduct regular key work sessions with the young people 路 Support children in overcoming personal challenges and achieving their goals. 路 Keep accurate records and contribute to reports on the childrens progress and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities: 路 Building positive relationships with children to foster trust and stability. 路 Managing challenging behaviour with a calm and patient approach. 路 Encouraging and promoting the development of life skills. 路 Following safeguarding procedures and promoting a culture of safety and respect. 路 Liaising with the appropriate agencies who are involved in the young persons care
Requirements: 路 A minimum of 1 years UK experience working with children and young people within a residential setting 路 Be able to provide professional references for anywhere you have worked within the last 3 years 路 Must have an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered on the update service or be willing to process a new one with Prospero. 路 A caring, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach. 路 Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. 路 Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. 路 A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children.
