Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Level 2 Residential Children’s Practitioner (Nights) to work part time based in Norwich.
The salary for this permanent Level 2 Residential Children’s Practitioner (Nights) job is up to £29,439 per annum (pro-rata).
Main duties:
- To engage in the effective support and care of children and young people with disabilities, so they feel supported in all aspects of their lives
- This will include providing personal/social care at differing levels to ensure that disabled holistic needs are met at all times
- To engage in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Ofsted’s Social Care Inspection Framework
- To maintain good professional practice within the homes in accordance with Departmental Standards, working as part of a team to achieve good outcomes for children and young people
- To contribute to young people’s care plans, risk assessments and health care plans, their review and implementation
- To form effective relationships with young people and their families to ensure that: a caring environment is maintained, their emotional, physical, medical and social needs are met, ‘safe care’ standards are met and opportunities for their development are maximised
- This includes providing hands on direct care, including intimate personal care
- To ensure that disabled’s children’s and young people’s diverse communication’s needs are adhered to, ascertaining their views and wishes and these are acted upon where appropriate
- To ensure good quality records are maintained as required
- To offer guidance and direction to junior staff
- Taking accountability of the home during the night with on call support system
Requirements of this job:
- Desirable to have the Level 3 Children, Young Person and Family Practitioner (or equivalent) qualification or willingness to complete
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- An understanding of the needs of looked after young people
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and statutory guidance
- An understanding of intervention strategies
