Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Norwich
Hours: Monday - Friday 0830 - 1530
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our team in Suffolk. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting teachers in educating children with challenging behaviour, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students with SEMH needs.
- Implement individual education plans for students.
- Use a variety of strategies to engage and motivate students.
- Assist in monitoring and assessing student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers and therapists.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students with their emotional and mental health needs
- Attend regular training and development sessions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a teaching assistant, particularly with SEMH students.
- A good understanding of SEMH and behaviour management strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
- Dedication to supporting high-quality education for students with SEMH needs.
