We’re looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our reputable Norwich-based company with over 100 years of excellence.The Role As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in sourcing, procuring, and validating products and services to support business demands while consistently meeting project requirements in quality, delivery, and documentation.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing supplier documentation, records, and certificates (internal and sub-contracted).
  • Acting as the main point of contact between suppliers and the company for commercial matters.
  • Negotiating delivery schedules and pricing to meet business demands within budgetary control.
  • Raising purchase orders in line with company policies and managing timely deliveries.
  • Maintaining and developing supplier relationships to ensure consistent project support.
  • Investigating and resolving non-conforming product issues, ensuring corrective actions are effective.
  • Reporting issues affecting project timelines to the Procurement Manager or Project Manager.
About YouEssential Qualifications:
  • BTEC Level 3 in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
Essential Experience and Knowledge:
  • Understanding and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of National, EU, International, and client-specific standards and processes.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in material certifications.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Desirable Experience:
  • Familiarity with defence contracts and manufacturing control plans.
  • Knowledge of electric motors and generators.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Forward-thinking and initiative-driven approach.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence at all levels, including third-party organisations.
  • Must be a UK National.
