If so, Spider are advertising on behalf of an international equine charity for a Visitor Centre Officer to join their teams based in Norwich, Norfolk on a part-time permanent basis!

  • Competitive Salary: On offer is a competitive salary of £20,897 per annum
  • Holiday: 31 days including bank holidays and mandatory Christmas / New Year shutdown (pro-rata for part time hours).

  • Hours: Up to 32 hours per week over 4 days. It is operated on a flexible basis and would suit a job-share as weekend working is required. A flexible approach towards working hours is essential as some events can take place outside of normal working hours.

About the role:

As a Visitor Centre Officer, you'll embark on a remarkable journey, ensuring that every visitor's experience is both enjoyable and informative. Your role will involve presenting the visitor centre with professionalism, coordinating engaging tours, and supporting a wide range of events to uplift the charity's profile. Additionally, you will also support equine events and dressage competitions. You'll work closely with a passionate team, including volunteers, to optimise visitor engagement and generate vital income to support the charity's mission.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Welcome visitors warmly and provide insightful guided tours of the working farm.
  • Collaborate with the Cook to ensure the café is efficiently prepared and assist with end-of-day procedures.
  • Aid in planning and executing events to enhance the charity's visibility and generate revenue.
  • Manage enquiries related to facility bookings, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.
  • Work alongside the Senior Centre Promotions Officer to organise volunteers and maintain up-to-date promotional materials.
  • Encourage visitors to contribute to the charity through memberships and merchandise sales.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including stock-taking, banking, and compliance with cash handling policies.
  • Support the recruitment, induction, and training of volunteers, addressing any concerns to HR.

About you:

You are an enthusiastic and personable individual with a flair for customer service and an innate ability to engage with people from all walks of life, including VIPs such as royalty and celebrities. Your organisational skills are second to none, enabling you to plan and prioritise tasks effectively. You thrive both in a team and independently, adapting to change with ease. Your computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Windows and Excel, complements your operational knowledge of cash handling and till systems.
