Our client is a leading multi franchise automotive group with dealerships located across East Anglia.

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Workshop Controller to join their team and ensure the efficient running of our workshop operations.

Role Overview: As the Vehicle Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring that repairs and maintenance are carried out efficiently and to a high standard. You will work closely with the technicians, service advisors, and parts team to ensure a smooth workflow and meet customer expectations whilst also working being actively on the tools yourself.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring jobs are assigned to the right technicians.
  • Monitor workflow and ensure all work is completed within agreed timeframes.
  • Carry out service / repair / diagnostic work
  • Conduct quality control checks on completed work, ensuring high standards are met.
  • Liaise with service advisors and parts teams to ensure smooth communication between departments.
  • Provide support and guidance to technicians, helping them resolve complex repair issues.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to within the workshop.
  • Manage and monitor workshop productivity, aiming to meet and exceed KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, ensuring documentation is up-to-date.
  • Carry out MOT’s (if you have an MOT licence)

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Workshop Controller or senior workshop role within the motor trade.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • EV / Hybrid vehicle experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work closely with multiple departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
  • MOT Licence and advantage but not essential
  • Full UK driving license.
