Vehicle Technician – Norwich

Contract Personnel are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician for a well-known car dealership company in the Norwich area.

How does the day-to-day look?

  • To carry out work competently and within time guidelines laid down by the Company, the Manufacturer or as agreed by a Line Manager.
  • To maintain accurate, detailed records of work undertaken including the times taken to complete.
  • To liaise with Service Advisors and Workshop Control to ensure that an informed diagnosis can be made on each vehicle and that the Service Advisor is able to relay the rectification work required and once authorised undertaken to the customer.
  • Where appropriate, liaising with the customer directly to communicate detailed, technical information in such a way that the customer understands and recognises value for money.
  • To keep the work area in a clean, tidy and safe condition and to dispose of waste in line with Company standards and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Report all opportunities for any additional work required on each vehicle worked on.
  • To ensure that every reasonable care is taken of customers’ vehicles whilst being worked on, including using the appropriate protection to keep the car clean and undamaged.
  • To ensure that any parts for Warranty claim are returned clean and if possible in the Manufacturer packaging and labelled correctly.
  • To maintain and develop personal skill levels in all aspects of repair, service and maintenance of vehicles.
  • To make full use of special tools and test equipment to improve efficiency.
  • To actively participate in team meetings, share knowledge and best practice and where appropriate mentor and guide Apprentice Technicians.
  • To read, understand and comply at all times with the Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • To adhere to any manufacturer specific requirements or standards. 
  • To carry out any additional related tasks as required by the Company from time to time.

You will have:

  • The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, preferably with qualified technician status, (MOT certificate where applicable) although manufacturer-specific training will be provided.
  • Strong administration skills and customer facing aptitude are essential.
  • Applicants must have a flexible approach to work and a full understanding of customer satisfaction.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 08:30am – 5:00pm (Saturday 08:30am – 12:30pm on rotation)

Salary: £29,510
