Lecturer in Electrical - Full-time, Permanent

Reed Further Education is excited to support the recruitment for a Lecturer in Electrical within the Construction department at a leading FE college in Norfolk. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the education and development of students by delivering high-quality teaching in a well-respected institution.

Location: NorfolkSalary: Band 3 qualified lecturersHours: 36 hours per week, 52 weeks per yearAnnual Leave: 42 days plus 8 bank holidays per annum

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching to groups of learners across a range of courses.
  • Undertake all forms of pedagogic work, including teaching and associated outreach duties, residential, open and distance learning courses, and student placements.
  • Carry out organisational and administrative work, preparation, and marking associated with teaching responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the administration of education and training programmes and participate in staff appraisal and development activities.
  • Provide initial curriculum-related advice and guidance, carry out interviewing, induction, assessment, and examination of students.
  • Participate in curriculum development work, including planning, development, and evaluation of courses and course materials.
  • Take responsibility for the leadership and management of specific courses as Course Leader.
  • Engage in external liaison/co-ordination in relation to specific courses, including liaison with employers and other stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A qualified teacher or committed to obtaining the appropriate qualification.
  • A Level 3 qualification or above in a relevant subject.
  • Significant vocational/industrial or commercial experience in Electrical fields.
  • Experience of teaching 14-19 year olds.
  • E-Literate and able to effectively utilise IT in the classroom.
  • Motivated with the ability to motivate others to succeed.
  • Creative, imaginative, and entrepreneurial with skills in building relationships with employers.
